This mechanism lets the weaver divide up the wrap thread into sets of two so they can be turned around or reversed after they are placed through the weft. The weft is the matter of yarn which the weaver draws under and over warp yarns to make the fabric. While there are different ways to make these beautiful custom carpets, most all of them employ the loom.

Most often, it is the beauty of Oriental rugs that catches the buyers' eye. While they may enjoy looking at the workmanship, they may never think about all of the work that has gone into the creation of the rugs. The truth is, making them can be a long hard process, but most always one that is enjoyed by the weaver, as it is a true art form.
